Starting Monday, June 17, 2024, NICE is launching a pilot on-demand expansion of its paratransit service in the Syosset area. Limited to certified Able-Ride clients, service is door-to-door and is shared with other paratransit and microtransit riders.

Call to Activate Your AR+ Account
When you're certified for Able-Ride, call 516-228-4173 to activate your account for the pilot AR+ service.

Order A Ride
Use the NICE Mini app, available from the Google Play or Apple App stores, or call 516-228-4173 Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 5:00pm.

Wait for Pickup and Be On Your Way
Your phone reservation agent will confirm the expected pickup time, or check the NICE Mini app to track the vehicle's location.

How long will the pilot Able-Ride Plus service in Syosset operate?
For at least 1 year.

What is the difference between Able-Ride and Able-Ride Plus?
Able-Ride is NICE's standard paratransit service that compliments the NICE Bus fixed route service. Able-Ride Plus is a pilot on-demand paratransit service in the Syosset area.

What if I want to travel outside of the Syosset area?
Travel between the Syosset zone and areas outside of the Able-Ride Plus zone requires a transfer to/from regular Able-Ride service. Call 516-228-4173 at least 24 hours ahead to schedule both legs of your trip.

How long is the wait to be picked up?
When you order an on-demand ride (i.e. right now), the scheduling system will offer you the first pick up time we have available. Once you confirm, we'll pick you up within 15 minutes before or after that time.
